Oahu Vow Renewal

Thinking about an Oahu vow renewal? Keep reading to get some inspiration from Lindsey and Andrew's sweet and intimate ceremony at the Prince Waikiki Hotel.

Oahu vow renewal

A long time coming

Friends for most of their lives, it was clear that Lindsey and Andrew were a match made in heaven. After only spending a few hours with the couple, their love for each other was undeniable. COVID hit the wedding industry hard, and both couples and vendors alike were feeling the blow. After every date they desired had to be pushed back, Lindsey and Andrew decided that there was no point in waiting to be married and tied the knot at a simple courthouse wedding. Once restrictions began easing up, the couple knew it was time to have a Hawaiian wedding ceremony for their family and friends.

Choosing a hotel

Lindsey confided in me that she had to jump through several hoops to make this Oahu vow renewal ceremony possible. All the guests had to be vaccinated and COVID tested, and many hotels we being extremely strict and seemingly unwelcoming.

She was so happy when she found the Prince Waikiki Hotel because they accommodated every request and were very hospitable.

Because the hotel grounds were immaculate and featured a rooftop pool, the Prince Waikiki was a great place for newlywed portraits!

Hawaiian Wedding Traditions

One thing I absolutely loved about Lindsey and Andrew's Oahu vow renewal ceremony was that they carefully incorporated Hawaiian wedding traditions. The couple had a conch to signal the beginning of the ceremony, shared breath, and had their hands bound by the Maile vine. It was truly beautiful and a joy to photograph!

Happily ever after

Once the ceremony concluded, we went up to the pool deck of the Prince Waikiki Hotel for newlywed portraits. Even though we were battling harsh light, the photos came out amazing and Lindsey looked stunning in her haku and TB dress (seriously, I can't believe how nice and inexpensive that dress was!)

After their portraits, the couple rejoined their family for some light snacks and a well-deserved drink. They got to dance the night away after their Oahu vow renewal, and will be dancing together for many years to come!
