Styled Shoot turned into Surprise Hawaii Proposal

After a bit of brainstorming, we decided the best course of action was to say that I needed content for my website and offered to do a Hawaii styled shoot with Dennis and Ellen (photos in exchange for their time). We had an absolutely adorable boho style shoot set-up featuring a Turkish throw, fluffy pillows, florals, candles, and string lights. If you'd like something more extravagant...I'd recommend Aloha Artisans! We set up at Makapu'u Beach Park and besides the wind giving us a bit of a hard time, everything was perfect.

Sneaky, Sneaky

The plan was for me to guide them through some poses and prompts to set the mood; then when we had Ellen turned with her back to me, I slipped Dennis the ring and he dropped to one knee. Her reaction was priceless! She was so overcome with surprise, joy, and love; it was truly beautiful to watch. (I'll admit I teared up a bit).

Happily Ever After

We finished off with a few more photos before the sun set behind the mountain. I was so honored to be a part of this surprise Hawaii proposal! It went incredibly well and the idea of a "fake styled shoot" was genius! I always get so many inquiries about surprise proposals and I truly think this is a great way to go! Your bride (or groom!) will already be dressed up, looking fabulous, and ready for pictures (so I don't have to hide in a bush lol). And I can be in the perfect spot to capture these moments! Congrats to the happy couple and I can't wait for more proposals to come 🙂
