Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, and it’s natural to want everything to be perfect. But what if I told you that making your wedding unique and personal doesn’t have to mean over-the-top or elaborate? In fact, the most memorable weddings are often the ones that go against the grain and feel authentic to the couple. Here are some tips on how to make your wedding unique and a true reflection of you and your partner.
The ceremony is the heart and soul of your wedding day, and it’s the perfect opportunity to make it unique. Consider writing your own vows, incorporating cultural traditions, or adding a special element like a unity ceremony. Think about what is meaningful to you as a couple and make it a part of your ceremony.
Another idea is to incorporate unconventional touches such as: dancing down the aisle, a flower-guy/grandma etc, or skipping the formalities all together!

Your wedding venue sets the tone for the entire day, so why not choose a location that is meaningful to you and your partner? Whether it’s a museum, a cabin in the mountains, a boat on a lake, or even in teepees in the forest, there are so many unique venues out there that don’t fall into the church or hotel category. & as your destination wedding photographer I’d be freaking stoked to photograph that hehe.
Wedding decor can be a lot of fun and it’s a great way to add your personal touch to the day. Consider using elements that reflect your personal style or incorporating items that have special significance to you and your partner. I’ve seen weddings themed like festivals for the music lovers, a garden/Alice in Wonderland theme for the Avant Garde, and weddings where costumes were mandatory. Sounds like a fun party to me!

Food is an important part of any wedding, and it’s also a great opportunity to make your day unique. Consider serving dishes that are unique to your heritage or foods that you absolutely go crazy for. Touches like taco trucks, sushi, a raw bar, or even a pizza party are the ultimate vibe.
Personal opinion, but I’m not a huge cake lover, and I swear everyone that I talk to isn’t either. So instead of cake, (if you don’t actually love it) how about ice cream, a milkshake station, cotton candy, or a wall of tequila shots for dessert hehe?
Wedding days that follow a traditional timeline can sometimes feel boring. So why not include some special touches and performances? Think acrobatics, fire dancers, circus performers, singers, you name it!
In conclusion, making your wedding unique doesn’t have to be complicated. Unique additions to your wedding day make it so much more special for you and your guests! So go ahead and make your day your own, and let your love story shine through!
