It's not just clicking the shutter in front of a beautiful backdrop. Through visual imagery, I aim to capture the essence of your love and your human experience. My sessions are longer so there is no rush; where we can create together through subtle prompts and direction. Together we will collaborate and curate a session that is relaxed, playful, iconic, and allows you to feel effortlessly confident.

Working with Masha was absolutely AMAZING start to finish. There was consistent and thorough communication from the booking date to the day of. We knew the plan from the beginning. The picture taking process was awesome and her style of letting you interact organically as opposed to too much posing was a great switch up from other photographers. We got the pictures back timely and most everyone that has commented on them from my social media posts has said they thought we were models in an ad. Fully expecting to convince her to come to KY for our future wedding!!
It's more than just choosing a pretty location and using sterile posing.
To get the best results, I'll provide space for you to be fully present and immersed in each other. To me, the location is secondary to your connection. That's why I always encourage my couples to seek out a location that's not only beautiful, but sentimental. On top of location, we will collaborate on including activities or places that are meaningful to your relationship. This is crucial to storytelling.
I provide subtle direction and prompts, and more editorial posing when the scene calls for it. I give you space to enjoy the moment so you can immerse yourself in the experience, without having to fixate on "the pose".
No two couples are the same, yet when I looked at most couples sessions; I saw a lot of sameness. Same poses, same locations, and no personalization. That's why it's so important to me to craft an experience that is customized. Some clients want to be adventurous and explore a new place together, some prefer privacy and want an experience in their home, some want to head to a favorite hangout spot or the place they had their first date. There are no rules, and every idea is a good idea.

I cried tears of joy! Our photos are so beautiful, I feel like they capture us as a couple perfectly while also looking almost too good to be us. The day was relaxed and fun. You never know how you’re going to vibe with someone but Masha was great at making us comfortable with her and in front of the camera. I had been following her Instagram page just drooling at her style of photos but scared to pull the trigger and pay for a photo shoot. Okay, time to talk turkey. Don't be afraid to open that door - I get it, planning a wedding is rough financially. It sucks when all you want are stunning photos but looking at prices have you super discouraged. My prices reflect the value of my services and my work as an artist, so I don't typically offer discounts. Buttt if it's a last minute booking & I happen to be available, we could open the discussion of working within your budget. I also sometimes work within budgets if you have a unique or inspiring idea, (or are willing to give me freedom to use my own creative direction to style or personalize your day). Having a conversation is the FIRST STEP - let's chat about your budget and see if we can work together in this season.
Only if you want to! After our extensive discovery process, we'll figure out how much activity you'd *actually* like for your session. There are lots of activities and locations that require minimal, if any, hiking. & some of my best photos are taken in your home, over a margarita or two :)
My couples session planning process is quite EXTENSIVE. I send out a detailed location guide, a customized questionnaire and a TON of resources. We work together to decide on the perfect location for your couples session. But honestly, the time of day and outfits have way more weight when it comes to the overall vibe of the photos than the location does, so don't overthink it! We can take gorgeous photos next to a dumpster (not that we would unless you're into that haha).
Ah, my most asked question! I go over this extensively in my client guide, but to sum up, keep it simple and neutral but DON'T MATCH EACH OTHER PERFECTLY, to avoid that "cheesy family photo" look.
I also think you should dress for the environment you are in. For example, something more stylish if we are doing an urban/downtown session; something more cozy and comfortable for the beach, and something nostalgic/vintage if we are indoors or having a creative session.
Hawaii is notorious for short rain showers, so I haven't had to cancel a session yet due to weather (knock on wood). I always carry a clear umbrella and protection for my gear and some of the most EPIC photos are taken in the rain or after a storm (think UNREAL sunsets).
...buttt if the weather is especially bad or unsafe, I do offer 1 complimentary reschedule if our schedules allow. If a reschedule is not possible, I'll refund the total fee, minus the nonrefundable retainer.
If, Heaven forbid, I am too ill or injured or otherwise can't make the session, I will find another incredible photographer for you with a similar style and experience level and will edit all the photos to ensure they align with my brand; if for some reason I can't find someone (highly unlikely, I have very talented photographer associates) I will refund all payments, including the retainer. I've never had to do this yet *knock on wood*.
