Kauai has a way of making weddings feel effortless. Megan and Hallett’s intimate celebration was no exception—relaxed, beautiful, and filled with genuine joy. Set on a private oceanfront estate, their wedding embraced everything Kauai is known for: breathtaking views, lush tropical surroundings, and a laid-back elegance that made the day feel natural and meaningful.
For Megan and Hallett, getting married in Hawaii wasn’t just about the wedding—it was about the experience.
“We are looking forward to (hopefully) an easy day! We wanted a no-pressure wedding with a small, intimate group of people. We also chose Hawaii because we wanted to do a further getaway for our honeymoon (we are going to Fiji!).”
Kauai was the perfect fit. It gave them a stunning setting for their vows while also serving as the launch point for their honeymoon adventure. The island’s slow pace, lush landscapes, and ocean views made it easy to create a wedding that felt both intentional and unforgettable.
Megan has always been drawn to vintage-inspired, editorial wedding photography—images that feel timeless yet artistic, capturing the emotion and style of the day in a way that feels both natural and cinematic. She wanted her wedding aesthetic to reflect that same balance of classic elegance with a modern edge.
Her dress, with its clean lines and contemporary cut, was paired with sleek, structured curls, a nod to Old Hollywood glamour but with a refined, modern touch. Every detail was considered—from the way her hair framed her face to the delicate vintage piping on their wedding cake, which echoed the intricate craftsmanship of decades past. These intentional choices made their wedding feel both stylish and deeply personal, blending elements of the past and present into a cohesive, effortlessly elegant vision.
Instead of a resort, Megan and Hallett chose a private estate, which gave them total privacy and the flexibility to plan the day on their terms.
Their oceanfront venue had everything—wide-open views, tropical gardens, and a relaxed elegance that made the setting feel personal. Without the limitations of a traditional venue, they could take their time, enjoy the space, and focus on what mattered most: celebrating with their closest friends and family.
Megan and Hallett wanted a wedding that felt easy—no rigid timelines, no unnecessary stress, just a beautiful day spent with the people they love.
With the Pacific stretching behind them, they exchanged vows under a simple floral arch, the ocean breeze adding to the moment. The setting didn’t need much—just them, their guests, and the natural beauty of Kauai. The ceremony was heartfelt and intimate, with personal vows that had everyone smiling (and maybe tearing up a little).
After the ceremony, guests gathered for a sunset cocktail hour, sipping fresh island cocktails while enjoying the views. Dinner was a family-style meal featuring fresh Hawaiian flavors, served under string lights as the sky turned deep orange and pink.
Instead of a formal reception, the evening felt like an intimate dinner party. Guests laughed, toasted, and danced barefoot on the lawn, embracing the laid-back energy of the island. It was exactly what Megan and Hallett had envisioned—simple, joyful, and filled with love.
For couples considering a Kauai wedding, a private estate offers some big advantages over a resort.
If you want a wedding that feels relaxed yet stunning, a private estate is the perfect choice.
Kauai’s landscapes, golden sunsets, and tropical light make for incredible wedding photos—but only if you have the right photographer to capture them. You need someone who understands lighting, composition, and timing, especially in an outdoor setting where conditions change quickly.
The best moments aren’t just about scenery—they’re about emotion. A great photographer will capture not just the big moments, but the small ones: the way you look at each other mid-ceremony, the laughter at dinner, the quiet moments when it all sinks in.
Megan and Hallett’s wedding was proof that a Kauai wedding doesn’t have to be complicated to be unforgettable. If you’re planning your own celebration and want a photographer who can capture it all—the stunning views, the real emotions, and the effortless beauty of the day—let’s connect.
