Elope in Paradise: Top Hidden Gems on Oahu for Your Special Day
If you’re planning to elope on the beautiful island of Oahu, you’re in for a treat! As a photographer based on Oahu, I’ve had the opportunity to capture many elopements and intimate weddings and have seen some truly stunning locations. Here are my top picks for the best places to elope on Oahu.
Laie Beach Park
This idyllic location is perfect for couples who want to exchange vows surrounded by lush greenery and crystal-clear waters. Laie Beach Park offers a stunning, secluded setting that’s perfect for a romantic elopement. With soft sand, turquoise water, and a breathtaking mountain view, this location is sure to make your elopement unforgettable.
Lanikai Beach
If you’re looking for a postcard-perfect elopement location, look no further than Lanikai Beach. This stunning white-sand beach boasts crystal-clear waters, perfect for a sunrise ceremony. You’ll feel like you have your own private island as you exchange vows surrounded by the lush tropical landscape, making it one of the best places to elope on Oahu. Keep in mind, Lanikai is world-famous so it does get busy!
Pali Notches
For a unique and dramatic elopement location, consider getting married at the Pali Notches. This iconic mountain range overlooking the Pali highway provides panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and the surrounding city. Exchange vows at a flat area at the top, then descend down to the beach for some stunning photos. This hike is a bit tricky to find and navigate, so be sure to go with an elopement photographer who has been there before *hint hint*!
Secret Island at Kualoa Ranch
For a more tropical elopement, consider Secret Island Kualoa Ranch. This sprawling beach offers stunning views of the lush Kaaawa Valley and the Koolau Mountain Range. Choose from several picturesque locations for your ceremony. Be sure to snag a permit and make sure you are able to have your elopement here as this is also a popular spot for weddings!
Sunset Beach Park
Sunset Beach Park is a beautiful location for an elopement on the North Shore of Oahu. With a long stretch of white sand, this beach is perfect for an intimate ceremony and stunning photos. Watch as the sun dips below the horizon, painting the sky with brilliant hues of pink, orange, and purple.
No matter which location you choose, you’re sure to have an unforgettable elopement on Oahu.
