the Process
The first part of our journey begins with the contact form where you can fill me in on the incredible day you are planning! Whether you are ready to book me or are still browsing options, I’d LOVE to hear everything you are dreaming up! Just an FYI, at this point in my business, I can't work with everyone that wants to hire me, so don't wait too long.
1. don't be shy, make the first move.
2. discovery call
Next we'll hop on a discovery call either via Zoom or phone. Just as it's so important for you to find a photographer that aligns with your vision to bring your dreams to reality, so is finding couples who align with my brand, values, and personality. The call is super casual where I'll learn more about you, you'll learn more about me, and we'll curate the perfect elopement collection for you.
If we decide we are perfect for each other (& I hope that we are!) our next step is to make it official. It's a signed photography contract and 30% nonrefundable retainer that goes toward your final balance to reserve your date. After that you are officially a booked client of mine & the real fun begins.
3. customized proposal & booking
As I mentioned, I hold your hand through the elopement planning process, starting with your exclusive 60+ page elopement guide packed with all my industry knowledge of planning and photographing elopements. You will also receive your Discovery Questionnaire which helps me get to know your vision so I can create a location & activities proposal based on your vison.
4. discovery questionnaire & elopement guide
After you submit the Discovery Questionnaire, I'll prepare a location & activities proposal. This will have my suggestions for locations for your ceremony & portraits, as well as activities for your day. As your Hawaii elopement photographer, I'll also include timelines for each of these options. This will be based on what you've told me you are envisioning for your elopement!

6. book travel & other vendors
Once we've decided on a location & general timeline for the day, it's time for you to book your travel, accommodations, & any other vendors you'd like for your day. Don't worry, as your Hawaii elopement photographer, I send a hand-selected, preferred vendor list so you can work with the best team for your intimate weddings.
7. customized elopement timeline
I will create a customized timeline for your Hawaii elopement. This will help us stay on track and fit in all your desired activities. Remember everything I recommend is just a suggestion! Ultimately, you have the final say in timeline and how you want to document your elopement.
8. final details
A month out from your elopement, I'll send a final questionnaire that will cover any details since we last spoke as well as any family portraits you desire should you decide to bring guests. We'll hop on a final planning call to go over any last-minute details & timeline adjustments.
11. albums & prints
I strongly believe in printed artwork. Your gorgeous photos don't deserve to live in digital exile. That's why I offer complimentary album design and a 20% discount on pre-ordered albums & prints. If you pre-order an album, I'll have your complimentary album draft ready along with gallery delivery.

So what the heck is an elopement anyways? An elopement is an intentionally small, authentic celebration of love where the focus of the day is on each other. Without the distractions of large groups and traditions, you can truly enjoy your time together. It can be just the two of you or a handful of guests, you decide!

My booking process is simple. After we hop on a discovery call and curate your customized elopement collections, I'll send out your proposal. It's just a signed contract and 30% retainer to officially book your date. After that I'll send all your resources and we begin planning!

Only if you want to! After our extensive planning process, we'll figure out how much activity you'd *actually* like for your elopement. There are lots of activities and locations that require minimal, if any, hiking.
DO WE HAVE TO HIKE FOR OUR ELOPEMENT?
HOW DO WE CHOOSE WHERE TO ELOPE?
My elopement planning process is quite EXTENSIVE. I send out a detailed elopement guide, a customized questionnaire and a TON of resources. We work together to decide on the perfect location for your love story.
HOW MUCH PLANNING DO YOU ACTUALLY HELP US WITH?
The short answer: a LOT. I provide guides, questionnaires, emails, and resources. Not to mention we have 3 zoom calls over the course of the time leading up to your elopement AND I create your customized photography timeline and do all your permit research. Pretty much the only thing I DON'T do is book any travel, accommodations or vendors.
WE WANT TO ELOPE BUT CAN WE INVITE GUESTS?
I use the term elopement broadly—some of my couples get married just the two of them, but others bring along family and friends.
Somewhere around 15 people or so, the logistical planning becomes pretty complicated and you're essentially planning a wedding so for anything more than that. Once you add too many guests, you will definitely be shifting the focus away from your adventure together and into catering to other people. And that's totally ok! But just wanted to make you aware!
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU GET SICK OR OTHERWISE CAN'T MAKE OUR WEDDING?
If, Heaven forbid, I am too ill or injured or otherwise can't make the elopement, I will find another incredible photographer for you with a similar style and experience level and will edit all the photos to ensure they align with my brand; if for some reason I can't find someone (highly unlikely, I have very talented photographer associates) I will refund all payments, including the retainer. I've never had to do this yet *knock on wood*.
